Thompson AA King Miners take the Munn Cup

After a weekend full of games, the Thompson AA King Miners are the 2015 Munn Cup champs. They faced The Pas Huskies in the finals.

 

The Norman Northstars wrapped up the regular season when they hosted the Brandon Wheat kings over the weekend. The Northstars weren’t able to get a win in during their last games though. On Saturday the Wheat kings doubled the Northstars 6-3, and on Sunday they got by the Northstars, 3-2.

45th annual Munn Cup this weekend

The 45th annual Munn Cup kicks off this morning.

 

The first game will see Wabowden face the Aeros at 10am in the CA Nesbitt Arena with the opening ceremony tomorrow at 12:30pm. 

 

Norway House, originally set to play, is no longer scheduled this weekend. It's believed the team pulled out after a game against the Thompson King Miners last weekend turned violent on the ice and in the stands.

 

Suspensions have been handed out, and the RCMP is investigating according to a statement from Mayor Dennis Fenske.

Munn Cup kicks off tomorrow

A RCMP spokeswoman says no one was seriously injured and officers are still investigating.

Northstars Get a Win Against Cougars

The Norman Northstars played host to the Southwest Cougars over the weekend.

 

On Saturday they lost to 2-5, but on Sunday they came back strong, beating the Cougars 2-1.
