The Laronge Ice Wolves and Head Coach and GM Kevin Kaminski have agreed to part ways for the up coming season.
Kaminski was at the helm for the last seven seasons and was awarded SJHL Coach Of The Year back in the 2020 season, his first year behind the bench and looked like he was transforming the Wolves back into a contender.
Unfortunately the team really struggled this past season and finished dead last at 11-40-4-1 and missed the playoffs for a third straight year.
Kaminski came to the Wolves after a lengthy professional career as both a player and coach including suiting up for over 100 games in the NHL, mainly with the Washington Capitals.
Kaminski also coached in the United States for over 20 years in the AHL, ECHL,UHL,CHL and SPHL prior to joining Laronge in 2020. Kaminski did take a personal leave from the team in January and did not return to the bench for the rest of the season.
The Ice Wolves announced on social media that they were looking forward to new opportunities and a fresh direction in moving forward, and thanked Coach Kaminski for his passion and leadership during his time with the organization.
