The Flin Flon Bombers will be putting their 5 game winning streak on the line as they host the Laronge Ice Wolves at the Whitney Forum tonight at 7:30.
Tonight will be a very special night as the Bombers will be celebrating the Flin Flon, Creighton, Denare Beach, and Cranberry Portage Fire Departments. Along with EMS, the RCMP, Manitoba and Saskatchewan Conservation for everything they did to protect our communities last summer during the Wild Fires. The Bombers will be honouring the brave men and women who fought for our safety and to protect our homes during unprecedented times.
A special ceremony will take place before puck drop.
The Bombers are flying high as they enter tonight's action with the best record in the league at 23-9-0-1, good for 47 points.
That is 3 points up on Weyburn and 6 up on Nipawin who are second and third overall respectfully.
Laronge has struggled this season and sit 12th overall at 6-19-3-1 and have just traded their Captain Zane Norman to the Melville Millionaires prior to the Jan 10th trade deadline.
The Mills moved 2007 born defender Carter Turchuk and 6 ft 3 forward Carter Wingert who is currently playing for the U18AAA Prince Albert Mintos in exchange for Normand as well as a PDF.
Flin Flon has beaten the Wolves in all 4 meetings this season and have dominated them in recent memory winning 25 of the last 30 matchups head to head.
Anything can happen on a given night in the SJHL, and the Wolves will have a chance to play spoiler tonight and we will see if their latest trade sparks them.
