Flin Flon Bombers Close Out 2025 In Convincing Fashion

The Flin Flon Bombers closed out 2025 with a couple of convincing wins over the Laronge Ice Wolves on the weekend.

The Bombers made their way to the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre for just the second time in franchise history on Friday night to kick off the home and home.

Landon Alexander scored just eight minutes into the opening period and the Bombers never looked back in a 6 to 1 win.

Xavier Fachon had a strong game scoring twice on the powerplay to give him 5 on the season. The other Flin Flon goals came from Hudson Breahaut (4), Leo Seitz (8) and Ryan Ulmer (4).

Former Bomber, Connor Hoemsen scored the lone goal for  Laronge when he scored on an odd man rush with the only shot that beat Finn Werner early in the third period.

Both goalies played great with Finn Werner picking up his fifth win of the season for Flin Flon  making 27 saves on 28 shots. Werner continues to have solid numbers with a GAA of 2.17 and a save % of .910.

Ice Wolf starting netminder Graham Brown played very well and did everything he could to keep his team in the game with 50 saves on 56 shots.

Specialty teams were huge with the Wolves not able to muster anything on the powerplay going 0 for 7 which included two 5 on 3's. The Bombers went 3 for 9.

The two teams would wrap up 2025 with the rematch at the Whitney Forum on Saturday.

The Bomber's powerplay was on fire once again going 4 for 8 and Flin Flon found the back of the net 8 times for an 8 to 3 victory.

It took just over a minute for Maverick Deslisle to score his 11th of the year and the Teddy Bears came flying out on the ice for The Northland Ford Teddy Bear Toss.

Once the Teddy Bears got cleaned up, Flin Flon went back to work with Wyatt Stinton scoring his 6th of the year on the powerplay.

Give Laronge credit,  they did battle back to tie the game at two on goals from Oliver Christianson and their Captain Zane Normand. The Bombers did score a couple more times to close out the period with Deslisle scoring his second of the night and Jacob Bauman adding his second of the season late in the opening period.

The Bombers kept coming and added four more goals in the second courtesy of Wyatt Stinton who picked up his second of the night and 7th of the season.  Reid Arberry scored his 13th and Jack Martin his 9th.

The biggest celebration of the night came when second year defenseman Natan Meunier scored his first ever SJHL goal when he grabbed a puck off the boards and fired a wrist shot from the point that found the back of the net.

Meunier got swarmed by his team mates and it was his 19th birthday to boot, for a game I'm sure he won't forget.

Laronge got the only goal in the third period when recently acquired Nikita Kulikov buried a rebound early in the period.

Devin Peck got the call between the pipes and picked up his 12th win of the season with 22 saves on 25 shots. Riley Zezel got the start from Laronge who was under fire all night,  but played well and ended up with 54 saves on 62 shots.

With the two wins,  the Bombers are back in first place overall  with 43 points through 31 games and are a very impressive 13-0 at the Whitney Forum.

Laronge will slip to 6-19-2-1 and remain in the basement.

The SJHL is now on it's Christmas break and the Bombers will be back on the ice starting on January the 2nd as they host the Melfort Mustangs. Our first radio broadcast of the new year will be in Melfort January the 3rd.

I want to take this time to wish all Flin Flon Bomber fans, parents, sponsors, board members and the players and coach's a Very  Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing everyone back at the rinks in 2026.
