The high school basketball season kicked off this past weekend and a number of Hapnot teams were in action.
It was a very impressive weekend for the JV Queens who were in Cranberry for the Frontier Classic.
The Queens crushed the competition beating MBCI out of The Pas 76 to 15, Cross Lake 67 to 8 and the host Raiders 57 to 8, going a perfect 3-0 in the round robin.
The JV Queens advanced directly to the final and they once again dominated MBCI winning 61 to 14 to finish first.
Congratulations to Head Coach Craig McIntosh and the rest of the Queens on their start to the season.
The Senior Hapnot Queens were in Carberry for the Carberry Classic.
The Queens went 1-1 in the round robin losing to Souris 73 to 35 before beating Major Pratt out of Russell 71 to 16. That put the Queens in the playoff round and they lost to William Morton 50 to 44 and finish fourth.
The Senior Hapnot Kings were in the Pas this past weekend for the Bill McDonald Memorial.
The Kings went 0-2 in the round robin losing to MBCI 72 to 49 and RD Parker out of Thompson 77 to 55.
They would wrap up the tournament on a high with a 71 to 55 win over Porcupine Plain in the third place game.
The JV teams are now off til the new year while the Senior Kings and Queens wll both be in action this Tuesday for the Red and Green Classic in Creighton.
