It was one of the toughest road trips for the Flin Flon Bombers in recent memory, as they dropped another game on the road against the Estevan Bruins on Saturday.
Flin Flon played well but had a tough time finding the back of the net and dropped a 4 to 2 decision to the Bruins.
After a scoreless first period the teams traded a pair of goals in the second. Maverick Deslisle and new comer Sam Ward scored for Flin Flon. The Bombers picked up Ward from the Victoria Grizzlies of the BCHL who dressed for his second game for the Bombers.
Estevan got their goals from Oliver Kramp and Ewen Rennie.
Things looked promising with the game tied at two heading into the third but Ewen Rennie found the back of the net two more times and leads the entire league in scoring with 21 points in 12 games.
Flin Flon out shot the Bruins 36 to 24 but once again the offense struggled.
Matthew Bradley took the loss with 20 saves on 24 shots and is 1-2 on the year while Nathan Kam made 34 saves on 36 shots and picked up his second straight win.
The Bombers won't have a lot of time to stew about their recent losing streak as they head back out on the road to Yorkton and Humboldt this weekend for games Friday and Saturday.
Friday the Bombers are at the Westland Arena to face the Terriers for the second time this season after dropping a 5 to 2 decision last Wednesday. Puck drop is 8pm Manitoba time. Saturday they are in Humboldt to face the Broncos who beat them in their previous meeting 5 to 3 on Wednesday October the 7th.
Both games will be broadcast on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com.
