Kodiaks End Season On High Note

The Creighton Kodiaks 6 Man Football Team played their best game of the season and wrapped up their year with a solid 53 to 38 win over Wakaw yesterday afternoon.

Creighton was 0-5 heading into yesterday's game but took advantage of the great weather and big crowd in picking up the win.

This was the Kodiaks first ever win over this power house team so it was a really sweet victory.

Deakon Anaka had an incredible afternoon leading the Kodiaks with four touchdowns including one run that was over 60 yards. PK Pelletier also had a good day with two touchdowns.

Matthew Lavis hauled in a the other touchdown and Oliver Atkinson kicked two converts.

Head Coach Ryan Karakochuk summed up yesterday's win. " I told the boys when they came out to enjoy this. The last 4 years they have been working their buts off and playing for a game like this. For our Seniors it was a perfect way to end the season. One of our goals this year was to beat Wakaw and we had never beat them before. To put that on our resume even though it was a tough season, is something we can put our hat on."

Creighton will finish the season 1-5 and won't qualify for the playoffs for the first time in their history, but look forward to getting back at it next season.

The Kodiaks would like to thank the parents, families and all the community members for your endless support and appreciate the best fans out there, and look forward to seeing you at the year end banquet.
