Another rough outing for the Flin Flon Bombers last night as they dropped their fourth in a row, 5 to 2 to the Yorkton Terriers.
Specialty teams were the big story last night with the Terriers going 4 for 5 with the extra attacker.
William Leonard scored a pair with singles coming from Thomas Ries and Mattias Shoffner as Yorkton built up a 4 -0 lead after two.
The Bombers did respond in the third period with a couple powerplay goals of their own from Maverick Deslisle and Joey Lies. This was Lies fifth goal of the season which matches his entire goal total from a year ago.
Yorkton did score the games only 5 on 5 goal with just over 5 minutes remaining to squash any chances of a Bomber comeback to make the final 5 to 2.
Flin Flon heavily out shot the Terriers 49 to 33 but could only beat Yorkton netminder Alexandro Montoya twice while rookie Matthew Bradley got the start for the Bombers and he surrendered 5 goals on 33 shots.
The Bombers record will drop to 6 -4 and it doesn't get any easier as the long road trip will continue in Weyburn tomorrow against a Red Wing team that is 8-2 on the season.
The Wings can fly and have scored the most amount of goals in the league with 44 in 10 games. This will be Flin Flon's first visit to the Whitecap Resources Centre since being eliminated in last year's SJHL Semi- Final.
Game time is 8pm Manitoba time.
