Creighton Kodiaks Finally Play At Home

Hard to believe, but the Creighton Kodiaks 6 Man Football Team finally played a home game yesterday. After being on the road for four straight weeks, the Kodiaks got their first chance to enjoy their new field.

The weather couldn't have been any better , as it was a beautiful sunny day and a tremendous crowd of over 300 plus came out to cheer on the  home team.

The Kodiaks jumped out to the quick 6-0 lead but ran out of gas dropping a 42 to 28 decision against Shellbrook who physically wore Creighton down throughout the afternoon.

It was another good afternoon for PK Pelletier who hauled in two touchdown passes of 20 and 10 yards. Deakon Anaka also scampered in for a one yard run and Brayden Church broke a few tackles for a 50 yard run to the delight of the home town crowd.

Creighton drops to 0-5 on the season and Head Coach Ryan Karakochuk  says they are going to give it their all in trying to win their last game of the season. " Absolutely, it didn't go our way yesterday , I thought we were in it for a while. One of our goals was to beat Wakaw this year, as they are the top team, so why not go out with a bang. Our Seniors will be excited to play this game. I hope we put on another good show and the weather cooperates as both our teams are fun to watch,  and I think the ball will be in the air quite a bit  that game."

The final game is set to go on Thursday October the 16th with kickoff at 4pm, Manitoba time.

The Kodiaks want to thank Northland Ford for coming out with their We Scare Hunger Campaign, as well as the Creighton Cheerleading Team for firing everyone up and all the spectators who came out to cheer them on.
