Mathew Kieper Is A Finalist For CJHL MVP

The accolades continue to roll in for Flin Flon Bomber netminder Mathew Kieper who is one of 5 finalists for the CJHL Most Valuable Player.

The CJHL made the announcement yesterday.

It is no secret that after Kieper's arrival, the Flin Flon Bombers turned their season around. Heading into November Flin Flon was sitting in  tenth place  and by the end of the season managed to finish second overall.

Kieper only ended up losing twice in regulation in the entire season and scooped up both the SJHL MVP and Top Goaltender Awards in leading the league in GAA and Save %.

Congratulations are also in order for 20 year old Flin Flon Bomber Carter Cormier who will get a chance to further his hockey career at Red Deer Polytechnic.

Cormier came to the Bombers from the Blackfalds Bulldogs and put up decent numbers including 37 points in 50 games , and managed to hit the 20 goal mark.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings recently won the ACAC Championship for the second season in a row. There are 16 former SJHL players on this roster and former Bombers, Chase and Easton Haygarth spent the last 4 years with the Kings program.
