Hapnot Collegiate hosted Senior Girls Provincial Basketball this past weekend with 8 of the top Senior Girls teams from right across the province taking part.
The Hapnot Queens were the host team and they ended up going 1-1 in the round robin. After an opening loss to Immanuel Christian , the Queens were able to knock off MBCI out of The Pas 59 to 51 in front of a very loud packed gym.
That would put the Queens in the Consolation Final against Prairie Mountain and after a slow start the Queens put together a decent second half and ended up losing 56 to 43.
The Warren Wildcats who were ranked number one in the province ended up beating Souris 52 to 36 and ended up winning the provincial title.
A big thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors, organizers and to all the coach's and players for travelling up for the tournament. This was the first time that Hapnot has hosted a provincial tournament in many years.
