It was a great weekend for Creighton school who hosted SHSAA Conference basketball for both the boys and girls for the first time in the school's history.
The Creighton Kodiak Boys were able to win both their games opening up with a convincing 93 to 30 win over Shellbrook to kick things off on Saturday.
That would put the Kodiaks in the Gold Medal game where they would meet Chief John Keenatch out of Big River.
Creighton played another strong game and captured the Gold with a 75 to 51 win in front of a packed gym.
The Creighton Kodiak Girls would take on Birch Hills for the Gold Medal as they were the only two girls teams in the tournament and one game would settle it all.
The Kodiaks were down by 19 points at the half but were able to mount an impressive comeback in the second half to make things interesting, but did come up a little short losing 53 to 49.
Both Creighton teams will now get a chance to play in Regionals, with the Kodiak Girls still able to qualify as the top two teams get in.
Locations for Regionals have yet to be determined. Creighton School would like to thank the sponsors, coach's, parents, staff members, players, officials, score keepers and fans.
