Bombers Shut Out By Terriers

Another solid effort, but unfortunately the same result for the Flin Flon Bombers.

Last night Flin Flon fired 50 shots at the Yorkton net, but came up empty losing to the Yorkton Terriers.

Riley Cormier was able to score on the Terriers first shot of the game and that is all the offense they would need as they picked up the road victory.

Aiden Kniutson and Dustin Renas would add insurance goals in the second and third periods. Flin Flon did all the right things by driving to the net, creating screens in front of the Terrier goal but just couldn't put a puck past Callum Creig.

Creig also played very well, stopping all 50 shots in his direction and brought a .943 save % into the game and is now 5-0 on the season.

Kenny Marquart got the start for the Bombers and he did play well in stopping 18 of 21, but once again he didn't get any offensive support. Marquart has started 8 games this year and the Bombers have only mustered 12 goals in the games Kenny has started making it very difficult to beat anybody.

After being stripped for 3 wins and 6 points earlier in the day for using an ineligible player,  Yorkton looked solid and improved to 6-6 and leap frogged both the Bombers and Ice Wolves for 7th spot overall.

Flin Flon slips to 5-7-1 and currently sit 8th overall with the Humboldt Broncos coming to town this weekend.

The Bronco's are a solid 7-3-1 and will provide a stiff test this weekend as Brayden Klimosko will make his return to the Forum for the first time as the Humboldt bench boss.

Games are 7:30 Friday and Saturday, with the Saturday game broadcast on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com with the Great North GM Coach's Show at 7:10.
