Despite some key injuries the Creighton Kodiaks were flying high at the Creighton Field yesterday.
The Kodiaks took it to the Hague Panthers 51 to 14 to finish up the Saskatchewan 6 man football season at 4-2.
Hague will finish the year at 1-5.
Creighton got their touchdowns from Brody Grant who had two, Rogan Hlady, Payton Pellietier, Kayleb Lycan, Matthew Lavis and Cory Lane.
Hlady also kicked 4 converts and Ethan Lavis had a good day on the defensive side of the ball with two interceptions.
Head Coach Ryan Karakochuk gave us his thoughts on finishing the season 4-2. " It is bitter sweet missing three guys , now with PK as it looks like he may be done for the year. Guys stepped up and I think we got a great effort from Rylan and a great effort from Matthew and Brody with a lot of speed today. We are extremely happy and we are going to celebrate our 4 and 2 and we will get ready for Rosetown. I am extremely happy it happened on our home field on a beautiful day today."
Once again it is confirmed that Creighton will finish 4-2 and second in their conference and become the first team from Northern Saskatchewan to make it to the provincial bracket.
The Kodiaks will travel to Rosetown who are ranked second in the entire province and will be a huge challenge with the Kodiaks missing three impact players including quarterback Josh Trumbley, Brayden Eyres and now PK Pellietier.
Rosetown is extremely strong and head into provincials with a 263 to 33 point differential.
The game will take place on Saturday October the 26th at 1pm.
