It wasn't the start to the road trip the Flin Flon Bombers were hoping for as they kicked off 4 games in 5 nights last night in Yorkton.

 

Flin Flon had a good first period out shooting Yorkton 10 to 6 but couldn't get a puck past Terrier netminder Ethan Farrow.

 

The second period was a different story as the Terriers were able to beat Kenny Marquart 4 times enroute to the 4 to 1 victory.

 

Evan Auld the rookie out of Calgary did most of the damage with a pair of goals for his first and second of the season. Aidan Knutson and Captain Jaron Desnoyers with his league leading 8th goal rounded out the scoring.

 

The lone Flin Flon  goal came from Carter Cormier who picked up his first as a Bomber when he was able to jam a puck under Ethan Farrow's pad on the powerplay.

 

There was a bit of a question mark about the Bomber goaltending so far this season,  but Kenny Marquart kept his team in the game last night  and made a lot of big saves without defensive support.

 

The Bombers also got themselves into penalty trouble but were able to kill all 7 Yorkton powerplays including a 5 on 3. Flin Flon went 1 for 5 but couldn't manufacture much 5 on 5.

 

Final shots were 30 to 30 with the Terriers doing a good job at keeping most of the Flin Fon shots to the outside and didn't allow the Bombers much offensive zone time.

 

Farrow didn't have to make a lot of tough stops while it seemed that Yorkton was on top of Marquart all night. One thing is for sure is the Terriers are for real and are now 5-0 to start the season.

 

The Bombers will slip to 2-2-1 and continue their road trip into Notre Dame tonight.

 

The Hounds are still searching for their first win of the season and are 0-4  and have been out scored 22 to 8 . Saying that,  they are always tough on the Bombers on that big ice and have to win a game sooner or later so Flin Flon better be ready to go.
