After acquiring 2003-born Defenceman Anthony Bax in exchange for 2004-born Forward Ashton Paul and future considerations at last season’s January 10th CJHL Trade Deadline from the MJHL’s Dauphin Kings, the Bombers have completed the future considerations of the deal. 2006-born Defenceman, Daniel Helary will be heading to Dauphin to complete the trade.
Helary was signed by the Bombers this summer but had yet to appear in a game this season with the maroon and white. The 6’4, 205lbs, Calgary, Alberta product spent the previous two seasons with the Prairie Hockey Academy of the CSSHL. Daniel had a strong 2023-2024 season posting 22 points in 28 games from the blueline.
The Bombers will kick off a 4 game in 5 night road trip tonight starting in Yorkton against the 4-0 Terriers. Yorkton looks like a much improved team this year out scoring the opposition 22 to 8 in their first 4 games.
They are also ranked third in the country. Game time is 8pm, Manitoba time.
The rest of the trip will take them to Notre Dame tomorrow, Weyburn on Friday and Estevan on Saturday. We will not be broadcasting these games on 102.9 CFAR and our next broadcast is Saturday October the 12th in Melfort.
