Wolves Drop Two Of Three On Weekend Road Trip

The Bantam “AAA” Norman Wolves got off to a rocky start in 2019, dropping two of three games played on their recent trip down south.

Despite a pair of goals from Ashton Paul and three helpers from Ian Snooks, the Wolves fell 8-5 to the Yellowhead Chiefs on Friday in Shoal Lake.

The team made the trip to Morden to play the Pembina Valley Hawks on Saturday, but did not fare much better as they lost 7-4. Colby Hnidy had two goals for the Nor-Man side, while Joey Lies, Clark Scaddan and Snooks had multi-point games.

The best game of the weekend for the Bantam “AAA” squad came Sunday in Brandon as they faced off against the Wheat Kings. The Wolves found themselves down 4-1 after the first period of play, but rallied together and ended up with a point in a 7-7 draw. Brady Krentz led the way with six points (2g, 4a), while Cheechoo Lathlin and Lies each had three.

The Wolves are next in action Friday as they take on the Parkland Rangers.

Their next home game is January 19th, when they welcome the Winnipeg Hawks to the TRCC.
