The Norman Northstars captured their second win of the season over the weekend against the Kenora Thistles.
The Northstars scored first on Friday night, but couldn’t hold on as they fell 4-1 to the 8th place team from Ontario.
Saturday afternoon was a different story, as the Thistles led the Nor-Man squad 3-1 with 13:00 to go in the third. Branden Hill scored his first of the season at the 9:24 mark of the third, before Albert Sinclair tied the game 20 seconds later.
Hill played hero in this one, scoring the game winner off of a face-off with just under a minute and a half left on the clock, giving the Northstars a 4-3 win.
Celebrations did not last long, however, as a full scale line brawl broke out in the post-game handshake line, resulting in suspensions for each team.
The Northstars are down south next weekend as they visit the Southwest Cougars, Brandon Wheat Kings and Yellowhead Chiefs.
