MJHL Announces Rescheduled Final

The Manitoba Junior Hockey League has announced that they have rescheduled the remainder of the championship series between the Virden Oil Capitals and Steinbach Pistons.

Game two, which was originally scheduled for this past Sunday, will be played this Thursday (April 12th) in Virden. There will be a pregame ceremony before the game to pay tribute to the Humboldt Broncos hockey club.

Game three will go Saturday, followed by game four on Monday. Should games five, six and seven be required, they will be played on April 19th, 21st and 23rd.

All games are scheduled to start at 7:30pm, with games two, four and six set to be played at Tundra Oil & Gas Place in Virden, while games three, five and seven will be in Steinbach at the T.G. Smith Centre.

The Oil Capitals currently lead the series 1-0, having defeated the Pistons 2-1 in game one last Friday. Hunter Cloutier scored his first goal of the post-season at the 5:10 mark of the third period, which turned out to be the game winner. Former Flin Flon Bomber Rylee Zimmer opened the scoring for Virden at the 11:08 mark of the second period. Mark Taraschuk, who spent two seasons in the WHL with Brandon and Swift Current, had the lone tally for Steinbach.
