Blizzard Sneak By Blues

The OCN Blizzard finished off their two game road trip last night with a game in Winnipeg against the Blues.

Dexter Kuczek opened the scoring in the opening minute for Winnipeg, and Adam Wowryk would add another to make the Blues' lead 2-0 after the first period.

Brady Valiquette would score for OCN in the middle frame, and the Blizzard were able to tie up the game half-way through the third thanks to Tristan Elie's seventh goal of the season.

Jeremy Dumount would play hero in this one, scoring the game winner with under a minute left in regulation.

Brett Epp made 23 saves between the pipes for his 24th win of the season.

The Blizzard now sit at 38-16-3 on the season with 79 points.

The win draws OCN into a three-way tie for second in the MJHL with the Winkler Flyers and the Selkirk Steelers.

The Blizzard are set to play their last regular season home game on Friday when host the middle-of-the-table Virden Oil Capitals. OCN will finish off the 2016/17 regular season with a pair of road games on March 3rd and 4th against Selkirk and Steinbach.
