Wheaties Finish Disappointing Road Trip

Brandon Hagel had two goals while Michael Spacek posted a three-point night as the Red Deer Rebels dismantled the Brandon Wheat Kings by a 6-1 final Saturday night.

Evan Polei, Hagel and Spacek scored three goals to open the game before Caiden Daley managed to get Brandon on the board with his first career WHL goal. Jared Freadrich responded 1:23 later and the Rebels took a commanding 4-1 lead to the dressing room after 20 minutes.

From there, Hagel added his second of the night and Brandon Cutler rounded out the scoring in the third period.

Lasse Petersen made 22 saves for his eighth win of the season.

The Wheat Kings fell to the Edmonton Oil Kings the night before to a score of 5-1. The Wheaties ended their road trip with a 1-5-2 record.
