Team Manitoba Heads to Special Olympics

Today Team Manitoba leaves for the Canada Special Olympic Games being held in Vancouver. Steven Dreger, manager of Special Olympics Manitoba,  says if our team does well it could mean them competing on a larger stage.

"Now our athletes are going to compete at the National Games representing Manitoba, and if they do well enough they will have a chance to go compete on behalf of Canada at the World Games.    The World Games are next year and are happening in Los Angeles.     So it will be the 2015 World Summer Games in Los Angeles."

There are two special Olympians from the Nor-Man region. Nadine Colomb has been part of the Special Olympics for 14 years now and takes part in 5-pin bowling, as well as snowshoeing. Peter Dumas is also on the 5-pin bowling team. Special Olympics run until July 12th.
