If you’re heading to the TRCC for a walk, a quick phone call could save you a wasted trip.

The city says some residents have arrived to find the walking track doors locked because no ice plant operator was on duty.

City of Thompson Communications Officer Ian Graham explains why that also affects access beyond the ice.
 

Closures are most likely between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays. The city prioritizes operator coverage for early mornings and late afternoons into the evening, when more activities are booked.

Planned closures are posted on the city’s website and Facebook page, but unexpected absences can mean little notice.
