If someone other than the regular recycling crew empties your blue bin, there may be a simple explanation.

A residential recycling audit is underway in Thompson until November sixth, covering 100 addresses across the city’s five collection areas.

City of Thompson Communications Officer Ian Graham says the Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association, also known as Recycle Everywhere, wants to see what’s ending up in those bins.

For households taking part, the routine stays the same: put your recycling out on your usual collection day.

Graham says the city shared the notice so residents would know why a different truck and crew might be stopping at their bins.
