Funding and safety at the Thompson Public Library were in the spotlight at the council candidates forum.

A resident asked how candidates would support the library, describing its value as one of the few places where people can gather without having to spend money.

One candidate called for more regular discussions between council and the organizations it funds.

Other suggestions included advocating for more provincial funding, increasing patrols around the library, and building partnerships with schools.
