More than 70 affordable homes for Métis elders and families are planned across Manitoba over the next five years.
The province and the Manitoba Métis Federation have signed an agreement worth 18 million dollars, with each contributing nine million.
The funding will support the Red River Métis Housing Strategy, aimed at addressing chronic homelessness and expanding affordable housing options.
The province says the projects will also create jobs in construction and building maintenance.
