The provincial government announced on September 17th that Manitobans would no longer be turning our clocks ahead or back.
Instead we will stay on Daylight Time all year around.
Dr. Inna Rabinovich-Nikitin, a Professor of Physiology and Pathophysiology at the University of Manitoba explains why doing so could be beneficial to us.
Dr. Rabinovich-Nikitin went on to say that it would be better to stay on Standard Time because it is a better match for our circadian rhythms.
She adds we need sunlight in the morning to help us set our body clocks so that we have energy in the day and then can sleep better at night.
Hear more about the time change and how it may impact us in the north. Tune in to Thompson Today at 12:40 and 5:10 this afternoon.
