Thompson residents came together Wednesday to honour residential school survivors and remember the children who never came home.

City communications officer Ian Graham says the growing support for Orange Shirt Day offers hope, while reminding people that reconciliation takes continued work.

Graham says the city continues that work through ongoing relationships with First Nations and Indigenous organizations, including partnerships supporting housing and people experiencing homelessness.
