The operators of the Port of Churchill and Europe’s largest port have signed an agreement aimed at expanding trade between Western Canada and Europe.

Arctic Gateway Group and the Port of Rotterdam plan to connect Canadian producers with European buyers, with a focus on critical minerals and energy products.

Arctic Gateway CEO Chris Avery says the agreement could open new markets for products shipped through Churchill.

The two organizations are also bringing industry and government representatives together for a critical minerals and trade forum in Winnipeg today.
