Drivers in Thompson are being urged to use extra caution around schools following multiple incidents involving children being hit by vehicles.

The City of Thompson, School District of Mystery Lake and Thompson RCMP issued a joint reminder Wednesday, asking drivers to slow down and watch carefully for children travelling to and from school.

Drivers are reminded the speed limit in Thompson school zones is 30 kilometres per hour.

Officials are also asking motorists to pay close attention to children crossing streets and to drive with care to ensure students can get to and from school safely.
