With the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation coming up September 30th, the Northern Health Region is encouraging Northerners to take time to learn, listen and reflect.
Bruce Krentz says the day honours residential school survivors, remembers the children who never returned home, and recognizes the ongoing impacts on Indigenous families and communities.
He says reconciliation starts with understanding the truth.
Krentz encourages people to listen to survivors and Indigenous knowledge keepers, explore the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, and take part in learning opportunities ahead of September 30th.
