RCMP are investigating the death of a 72-year-old man in Lynn Lake as a homicide.

 

Police say a cell guard at the Lynn Lake RCMP detachment alerted officers around 7:30 Sunday morning after seeing a man lying on the ground outside the building.

 

Officers found the man suffering from serious injuries and immediately provided first aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Investigators believe the man had been assaulted and left his residence to seek help at the RCMP detachment before dying shortly after arriving on the property.

 

Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services and Forensic Identification Services are assisting with the investigation.
