Thompson’s mayoral race is beginning to take shape, with two potential candidates now submitting their paperwork ahead of October’s municipal election.

Mayor Colleen Smook says neither candidate had been officially confirmed at the time of the interview, as their paperwork still needed to be vetted by the senior election official.

Smook says six potential mayoral candidates have picked up papers, while four candidates have registered for council and seven for school trustee.

The deadline to officially enter the race is September 22nd.
