The Thompson Public Library has been selected as the September donation recipient by 100 Women Who Care Thompson.
The library is fundraising for new safety fencing around its property following concerns over frequent vandalism, loitering, littering, indecent exposure and verbal abuse.
Library officials say RCMP are being called to the area daily, with children among those witnessing some of the incidents.
The proposed project would include two lockable fenced areas, providing space for children to play, patrons to read and sit, and the library to hold programming.
