United Steelworkers Local 6166 is inviting Thompson residents to celebrate working people at its annual Labour Day picnic this Monday.

 

The free event runs from, with hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks, bouncy houses, kids’ activities and prizes.

 

New USW Local 6166 President Scott Clements says the event is open to everyone.

 

 

Clements says the picnic has drawn hundreds of people in previous years, although turnout and some activities are weather permitting.

 

He says the event is a chance for workers, retirees and families across Thompson to come together and enjoy Labour Day.
