Thompson’s Community Safety Officer program is back on patrol, after staffing shortages had previously put patrols on pause.

Deputy Mayor Louise Fitzpatrick says the city hired an experienced CSO in July, while another former officer has now returned to the department.

Fitzpatrick says the city has also conducted several interviews and could have all four positions filled this fall, although new hires would still need to complete training in November.
