Manitoba Trade Council Reconvenes Over U.S. Tariffs

The Manitoba government is bringing its U.S. Trade Council back together as concerns continue over American tariffs on Canadian goods.

Premier Wab Kinew says the council will examine how the latest tariffs could affect Manitoba businesses, workers and exporters, while helping shape the province’s response.

The meeting will focus on protecting jobs, supporting exporters and supply chains, and ensuring Manitoba’s priorities are represented as Canada responds to U.S. trade measures.

The council includes representatives from Manitoba’s business, labour and industry sectors, along with Indigenous governments.

Kinew says the province will continue working with federal and industry partners to protect Manitoba’s economic interests.
