Thompson Fire and Emergency Services and the Manitoba Wildfire Service will be out tomorrow, clearing brush, deadfall and other potential wildfire fuel along the Millennium Trail.
The work will begin between the trail and Sturgeon and Sager Crescents, before continuing through Westwood toward River Road and the TRCC and UCN area.
Mayor Colleen Smook says reducing fuel close to homes can make a major difference if a wildfire breaks out.
Smook says this is part of ongoing work to make areas around Thompson safer from the threat of wildfire.
