Dynacare laboratory employees in Manitoba have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a strike mandate.
The Manitoba Association of Health Care Professionals says 99.7 per cent of participating members voted in favour.
The union represents nearly 350 Dynacare laboratory technicians and technologists working at 22 laboratory and health service centres in Winnipeg, Brandon and surrounding communities.
MAHCP says wages for Dynacare laboratory professionals are currently between 20 and 50 per cent behind comparable Shared Health positions.
The union and Dynacare have been in mediation since July 15, but have not reached a tentative agreement, with no further bargaining or mediation dates currently scheduled.
