Thompson Rural RCMP continue to investigate a possible drowning near Kelsey after a missing Alberta man was reported earlier this week.

Police say 60-year-old James Redmond was reported missing Monday after he had not been seen since early that morning.

Investigators say Redmond was known to fish from the shore of the Nelson River.

Officers later found his fishing gear about 200 metres upstream from the Kelsey Generating Station dam, where they believe he may have entered the water.

RCMP drones and a private diving company assisted with the search as the investigation continues.
