The Hello Parents Network of Thompson is inviting families to kick off summer with a day of fun while learning about staying safe.

Community Health Promotions Coordinator Bruce Krentz says the annual Summer Safety Community Block Party returns to the Juniper Splash Park on July 22nd from 1 to 4 p.m., bringing together local organizations for an afternoon of activities, information, and free food.

Along with the community event, Krentz is reminding people to prepare for the hot weather by staying hydrated, wearing sunscreen, avoiding the hottest parts of the day, and checking in on vulnerable friends, neighbours, and family members.
