Prairie grain is set to move through the Port of Churchill for the first time since 2020, marking a major milestone for the Hudson Bay Railway and the port’s ongoing revitalization.
Arctic Gateway Group says the first shipment will depart later this week, reconnecting Prairie producers with overseas markets through Canada’s only Arctic deepwater port served by rail.
The announcement comes as governments and industry continue investing in expanding trade through Manitoba’s North and strengthening the Arctic trade corridor.
