On July 7, 2026, at approximately 3:30 p.m., God’s Lake RCMP received a report of shots fired in the south side of the community.

 

Officers immediately responded and were advised by Anishinaabe Peacekeepers that two suspects, one male and one female, were seen leaving the area on a green coloured all-terrain vehicle (ATV).

 

Patrols began in the area and a short time later the ATV was located along with the two suspects.

 

After a search of the ATV officers located two firearms in a guitar case, ammunition, a knife and a small amount of methamphetamine.

 

A 30-year-old female and 28-year-old male, both from God’s Lake Narrows, were arrested. The male was also found to be on conditions to not possess firearms.

 

The 30-year-old female is charged with:

• Careless use of a firearm;
• Possession of firearm ammunition in motor vehicle; and
• Possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized.

 

Brett White, 28, is charged with:

• Careless use of a firearm;
• Possession of a firearm when possession unauthorized;
• Fair to comply with undertaking condition x 4;
• Possession of firearm ammunition in motor vehicle; and
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking.

 

Both were released on undertakings.

 

On July 9, officers were notified that White was possibly breaching his court-ordered conditions. They attended  his residence where he was arrested and charged with eight additional offences. He was remanded into custody.
