Team Vale Thompson is being recognized after taking top honours at this year’s Manitoba Provincial Mine Rescue Competition.

 

The competition was hosted this past weekend in Snow Lake at Hudbay’s Lalor operations, bringing together mine rescue teams from across Manitoba.

 

Ashton Crone, Director of Business Planning for Hudbay Minerals Incorporated, says the event is about much more than a trophy.

 

 

Crone says Team Vale Thompson’s win shows the level of skill, training, and preparedness within Thompson’s mining community.

 

He says residents should be proud, because the team proved itself through two days of intense testing at the provincial level.
