A Thompson team is bringing home top honours from this year’s Manitoba Provincial Mine Rescue Competition.
Team Vale Thompson took first place at the 63rd annual event, held May 8th and 9th in Snow Lake.
More than 30 mine rescue personnel from across the province competed in a series of demanding emergency simulations designed to mirror real underground incidents.
The competition tested teams in areas like underground rescue, firefighting, first aid, written exams, and hands-on technical skills.
In addition to winning the overall title, Vale Thompson also earned top honours in the firefighting competition.
