City Council and School Trustee by-elections start today

One new school trustee and one new city councillor will be elected during today’s by-election.

Linda Markus and Oswald Sawh are running to fill the councillor position left vacant after former councillor Earl Colbourne’s resignation in April.

Abbey Ogumbanwo and Michelle Nicole-Sawh are the candidates for school trustee.

If you are a Canadian citizen, 18 years or older, have lived or owned property in Thompson for at least 6 months as of today, then you are eligible to vote.

A person may be required to produce one piece of government-issued photo identification such as a driver’s licence or passport, or at least two other documents that provide proof of identity.

Voting runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the TRCC.
