On July 24, 2024, at approximately 3:20 am, RCMP responded to a structure fire at Westwood School in Thompson.

Officers immediately attended along with the Fire Department. It is believed there was no one inside the building at the time of the fire.

The fire continued to burn this morning and Thompson Fire Department along with Vale Manitoba Operations Mine Rescue Firefighters were on scene attempting to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and remains under investigation.

Thompson RCMP, along with the Office of the Fire Commissioner continue to investigate.
