A fire Sunday at Camp Whitney outside Flin Flon has destroyed the main kitchen building on the site and damaged other structures.
The fire was sighted in the early afternoon by a person passing on a jet ski and reported it to Flin Flon RCMP.
When they arrived on scene they found the main kitchen fully engulfed in flames and structures close by had been reached by the fire.
Provincial fire crews were reached and sent a water bomber to the scene to dump foam on the fire. The Flin Flon Fire Department also attended with water pumps to help extinguish the fire.
Officers cleared the camp and determine that nobody was present.
Investigation determined that the site had been rented, but the site had been closed up by a caretaker after the group left the camp.
The RCMP investigation has not found anything suspicious at this time. The Office of the Fire Commissioner continues its investigation into the cause of the fire.
