Mayor Colleen Smook provided updates on a number of construction projects around Thompson.
On City Beat yesterday, she said the Ma-Mow-We-Tak Friendship Centre Senior Complex should be closed in completely by the fall. The interior work will continue over the winter and it will likely open for occupancy next summer.
Smook said R.D. Parker Collegiate’s music room is scheduled to open this September, but the gym may not meet that deadline.
Here, she provides an update on the Juniper Splash Pad.
“The equipment is here and stored in Thompson at Public Works. It was here last fall and now the company that is to be putting it together said that they would be here in early June and now the timeline is mid August installation.”
Smook added that work at the Aquatic Centre location will resume next week once the construction crew returns for their next rotation.
She said the pile-driving will continue over the next few weeks, so be prepared for the noise.
