Manitoba Parks offers hiking trails for people looking to get outside during summer

Manitoba’s parks have a variety of hiking trails available to visitors.

They include trails you can travel in less than an hour to back-country trails that are more rugged and may require an overnight stay.

Sloan Cathcart, Head of Interpretation for Manitoba Parks says hiking is an activity anyone can access.

“Pretty well anyone can do it and there are trails and experiences for everybody. There are some trails we have in the province that are paved or gravelled so they are easy to travel even if you have some mobility concerns. You can get outside and enjoy your parks and nature.”

Cathcart says one of the province’s most challenging trail is the 28-kilometre one in Pisew Provincial Park that leads to Kwasitchewan Falls, Manitoba’s highest waterfall.

An easier one in our area is the Coffee Cove trail at Paint Lake Provincial Park.
